Head Start on 2013

On Monday 12-4 I started the Rice Diet Phase 1.  I have had great success with the rice diet in the past, but have struggled to continue it outside of the formal program in Durham.  I like the principles of the diet, its very simple - Rice (or grains) and Fruit.  Phase 2 is the addition of Vegetables.  Note: Corn is a grain, NOT a vegetable.  Its Wednesday, 2 days later, and I have lost 7 lbs.  This tells me a couple of things.  The Rice Diet works as well as I remember and I was really bloated.  Rice is a natural diuretic, it helps you excrete excess water.  Continuing on the diet may be hard, but I intend to do it.  I have some upcoming events that may challenge my resolve - Company Xmas Party, my dad's birthday, department Xmas Party, my mother in law's birthday, and Christmas.  I think I can stay focused, but I'll let you know.
